What is True Roll?

The two most significant elements in achieving an optimum movement of the golf ball across a putting green, and the distance it travels, are: 1) the ability of the golf ball to reach a state of True Roll as quickly as possible so that it will track to the hole with less probability of deflection from its intended line, and 2) the amount of energy that the ball retains, from the impact with the putter head, after the ball achieves the state of true roll; caused by energy from the Moment of Inertia.  These elements are critical in establishing a comprehensive Performance Efficiency Index (PEI).

CFC’s putter technology team offers 2 putters that will reduce strokes from round one!  There are 3 key differences in CFC putters.

Wedges

The wedge is the one club that can rescue a player from the most difficult of lies or that puts him in birdie range on a regular basis.  CFC Golf’s line of Tour Master Wedges has found its way into the bags of tour-caliber players and average golfers alike for nearly a decade.  In 2006, the CFC Tour Master Forged line of wedges is joined by a unique combination of 4 new CFC Tour Master III models for the 2007 season.  Each of these new offerings combines a tour-preferred head shape, multiple loft options and tour-grind soles to provide playability from fairway, rough or sand.  The TMIII’s are available in a choice of 4 finishes…satin for the player who favors a traditional look, an oil can finish prized by touring pros, a black TiCN finish for durability and glare reduction and blue PVD for those who prefer to be trend setters.  Regardless of whether you prefer the Tour Model Forged or III, Tour Master Wedges provide all the playability you’ll ever need in a short game club.

Set Selection by a CFC Certified Clubfitter

Now that we’ve covered clubheads, lie/loft, length and grips, it’s time to let a CFC Golf Certified Clubfitter put a set together that makes sense for your game.  One thing is for sure; you can put together the perfect set of clubs for your game.  However, if the assembly of the head, shaft, and grip result in a finished club that is not built to the correct length and swingweight for your needs, the clubs will not perform, period.

If you’re like most golfers, you bought a set of irons3-P-SW, Driver -3-5 woods, putter and maybe a miracle club or two.  Why that set?  Because that’s what the major manufactures sold you via marketing and lots of Golf Channel commercials.

There are two clubs in that set that the average golfer will never be able to hit properly: the 3 iron and 4 iron.  There is a rule among custom club builders called the 24/38 rule.

24/38 Rule: Golfers do not have, and never will have, the ability to hit consistently an iron that has a loft angle of 24 degrees or less and more than 38 inches of length.  To do so requires a level of swing precision golfers rarely have the opportunity to attain because we don’t play every day or have a PGA Professional Coach 7 days per week.
Some people are much better off with graphite shafts up until the 8 iron, then should be hitting steel shafts 8-60 degree wedge.  Most people should be carrying at least one Hybrid if not two.

Central Florida Customs Golf will match you with the “Perfect Set” and not overcharge you by forcing you to carry a 3 & 4 iron or 5 wood, just because they are included in “Off the Rack” traditional sets.
